L.O. Baptista advises financial institutions, payment institutions, fintechs, digital banks and other players of the financial market on matters involving foreign exchange and financial regulation, including requests for authorization and operating license with the Central Bank of Brazil and the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

L.O. Baptista tailors solutions to the specific requirements of each transaction, including by advising Brazilian and international clients on negotiation and renegotiation of debts and drafting of financing documents, structured credit and securitization transactions, including the placement of bonds, debentures, certificates of real estate receivables (CRI), and agribusiness receivables certificates (CRA).

Our lawyers also have wide experience in foreign exchange regulation concerning foreign investments in Brazil and Brazilian investments overseas. Our practice includes registering foreign investments and loans with the Central Bank of Brazil, representing clients in administrative proceedings, as well as advising on export and import matters.

In order to deal with this and other types of demand, we have a dedicated and specialized practice group that team closely with other practice areas of the firm, such as corporate, tax and competition.
